Do dynamometers appraise the speed from the vehicle too?
I understand dynamometers appraise the torque and hewlett packard of the vehicle, but could they appraise the max speed from the vehicle too?
If that’s the case, how do you use it?
I’m not interested by doing this…
I’m just wondering the way they found the max speed of the vehicle…
the dodge tomahawk is mentioned to visit 420mph, which is a motorbike-ant vehicle(a dodge viper engine on the motorcycle)…clearly no human could stand that much gforce and wind and so i wasn’t sure the way they made it happen
Since a vehicle running on the chasis dyno isn’t moving, you cannot make use of a dyno to measure speed. You will find additional factors, like wind and road resistance to be considered.
So far as I understand, the Dodge Tomahawk was strictly a design exercise to exhibit from the large V-10 engine, and never was intended for serious use on the highway. It’s never been run at any serious speed, and might not be safe to use at highway speeds. Any stated top speed is simply a guestimate, and prone to remain this way.

How do i measure static friction on metals in the laboratory?
I been looking on how to measure static and dynamic friction between metals in the laboratory. So far, most of the books recommends using either a dynamometer or a pin and disc machine. But these 2 apparatus only measures kinetic friction. So how do i measure the static friction. And please dont say weight and pulley system
I’ve had to estimate static friction before. What I did was to put a part on a plate and tilt the plate until the part started to move. I took the static friction coefficient to be the inverse tangent of the tilt angle.
